Jordan’s tourism income reached USD 5.8 billion, up 10.2 % year on year, according to figures from the Central Bank of the country published on Jordanian news agency Petra.

The Central Bank attributed the performance to an increase in the number of overnight tourists by 8.9%, to 5.66 million tourists. Many visitors travel to the country for same-day tours, mainly to Petra historic site.

Last December, the revenues from tourism reached USD 437 million, up 14% from a year before. The total number of tourists increased by 16.9% year on year.

Total number of Brazilian tourists to Jordan increased by 50% in 2019 year on year.
