Event on the 29th in São Paulo is aimed at food companies, especially those that are going to participate in Gulfood in Dubai. Focus will be the market of Arab countries in the Gulf.
The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will hold the “Food and Beverage Exports to the Gulf Countries” seminar on January 29 starting on 8:30 am in São Paulo. Registration deadline is next Tuesday (21).
The event is recommended for companies interested in selling their food products to the region as well as companies participating in Gulfood, the Gulf’s largest food and beverage trade show to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from February 16-20. In partnership with sector-specific organizations, Apex is responsible for a large part of Brazil’s presence in the show, and the Arab Chamber is taking eight of its members this year to a 42-sqm stand.
“For us, Gulfood is the icing on the cake in the Middle East. It’s one of the most important fairs in Brazil-Arab economic relations regarding the food industry, and Brazil has strengthened its presence year after year, presenting new companies to this market. We’ll most certainly have over 100 Brazilian companies participating this year,” Arab Chamber secretary-general Tamer Mansour told ANBA.Picture above, the 2019 show.
“As for the Arab Chamber, we’ll have a particularly strong participation this year. For the first time, we are having a 42-sqm stand, featuring eight members. The Arab Chamber sees Gulfood as a very important fair to strengthening and establishing relations with new Arab members and will use the fair as a platform to invite more Arab companies and officials to participate in our Arab International Fair and Brazil-Arab Countries Economic Forum,” finished Mansour. The forum and the fair will take place in April in São Paulo.
The seminar will present market information and opportunities and challenges on doing business with the Gulf bloc, which consists of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, and Oman.
The topics addressed at the event will include an overview on trade relations with Brazil; challenges and opportunities regarding halal certification and food security; and distribution channels, consumer profiling, and business trends. The seminar will also address Expo 2020 and the Brazilian presence in the exhibition to take place in Dubai as of October 20. Apex organizes the Brazilian pavilion.
“We’ll talk about Gulfood, Expo 2020, and the entire Arab Chamber event schedule for this year. Since the food industry is our main topic now, this is the first event of the year, and we’ll address all the aspects of it, from Gulfood to opportunities, figures and future events, with a focus on Expo 2020, where we plan on taking delegations at specific moments and contributing to the content agenda Apex has developed throughout the six-month exhibition,” said Arab Chamber commercial director Daniella Leite.
The seminar takes place on the Arab Chamber auditorium at Avenida Paulista, 283, 11thfloor, and seats are limited. Register here.
